- Wood Burning Stoves -

Wood burning stoves are an extremely efficient and aesthetic heat source for your home. If you are considering having one installed professionally, I offer a free consultation at your home to assess your technical requirements - there is more to take into consideration than you might think!

I can guide you in your choice of wood burner or alternatively, install one that you’ve sourced yourself, providing it meets current CE approval.

- Thatched Properties -

If you own a thatched property and wish to install a wood burning stove, I would advise that you contact your insurers and make them aware of your intention.  They will inform you of their requirements regarding the installation and by how much your

Insurance Premium is liable to rise.

Wood burners, thatched properties and insurance companies don't mix very well. That said, the vast majority of stove installations into thatched properties are straightforward, and moreover, safe.

N.B - Building regulations stipulate that the chimney has to terminate 1.8m off of the thatch ridge - this often means chimney scaffold is needed in order to carry out the work safely.

Please get in touch for more information on how I can help.

- Useful Links -

I have included some links to stove manufacturers' websites - these are stoves that I install most frequently. They all differ greatly in style and cost but all perform phenomenally well. I would advise against rushing out and buying a stove without getting professional advice first!
